Your thoughts are powerful, so don’t be fooled into thinking that you can’t change things in your life by how you think about them. You’re not powerless, and you don’t have to be affected by the negative thoughts in your head because you have the power to take control of your situation and create the life you want. Thoughts are powerful. They are preemptive. The thoughts running through your mind can help to manifest the life of your dreams or draw you closer to your greatest fears. But most people don’t realize the inherent power of their thoughts.

Why Should We Care?

You probably know that everything you do begins with a thought in your head. This means your actions and behaviors start with a choice—and it’s up to you whether that choice is based on positive or negative thinking. The problem is, that our default setting tends to be negative: We dwell on things that have gone wrong instead of seeing opportunities for what they really are. But if we can change our mindset and stop thinking negatively all the time, we can begin to see more clearly and act more effectively.

As hard as it may seem we need to only meditate and pray for what we want – the positive result or action, not for what we don’t want. 

You don’t have to protect yourself from anything! In fact, an attitude of protection will surely bring you to the vibration of the thing from which you’re protecting yourself. Because you can’t look at something and say, “Oh no, I’m saying a prayer to protect myself from you,” without achieving a vibrational harmony with “you”, whatever you are.

Stop Thinking About What You Don’t Want

An all too common occurrence, it seems to be human nature to pray or meditate on what we don’t want. Unfortunately, this defeats the purpose of our meditation as we have given energy to that very thing and are attracting it and any similarly associated energy to us. Our subconscious does not understand “I don’t want”, it only recognizes the “it”.

A year or two later, as I began this journey of changing my life by changing my thinking, I realized that I created that reality by going about my meditations the wrong way and thinking about the wrong things – I was thinking about what I didn’t want not what I wanted.

This minute, analyze your thoughts, prayers, and meditations to be sure you are only asking for what you want. Don’t think about what you don’t want.

Think Positive Thoughts

Don’t Worry

When you think about, focus on, or worry about that which you do not want, you bring negative energy into your life and your reality. Have you noticed how, once you think of a negative person or a situation, your mind continues to bring about more and more negative thoughts and how your mood and outlook on the day worsen?

The first step to changing your life is to change your perspective about your life. How you perceive things has a great deal of influence over how you feel and act. Take control of how you see things by becoming more aware of your internal dialogue and self-talk – especially when it comes to negative thinking. Don’t let those voices in your head hold you back from achieving what it is that you want in life! If you find yourself saying things like I can’t do anything right, or I am not good enough for anyone, then you need to stop thinking negatively all the time. Start talking positively about yourself and your abilities instead of putting yourself down. You might be surprised at how quickly your outlook on life changes once you start telling yourself positive affirmations every day.

Throughout each day I monitor my thoughts for any which are not positive, which can be quite often on some days. I must immediately end those thoughts and find something positive for my mind to think.

Attempt to be aware of your thoughts today and banish any that are not positive. Find something positive to think about – something as simple as recognizing the beautiful blue sky or lovely flowers will do.
