10 TIPS To Overcome Laziness

No comments :

Tips To Stop Being Lazy
https://www.momentsofpositivity.com/      It happens to all of us. Sometimes, we just don't feel like doing anything, be it work, chores, or whatever… it's easier to chill out, relax, and forget about responsibilities. But what if this turns into a habit, and things start to pile up? Laziness can have a negative effect on both your personal and professional life. If it seems like you've slipped into a lazy cycle and you’re being unproductive, you should consider the following tips to get your life back on track!
 1 - Make Sure You're Not Overwhelmed
Sometimes, we have so much to do, that we just get overwhelmed, and then we end up doing nothing. It’s necessary to own realistic expectations regarding what you’re really ready to accomplish. If you have too much on your plate and no idea how you're gonna get it all done, you may just be overwhelmed, and not necessarily lazy.
2 - Get Motivated
Most of the time, laziness is due to a lack of motivation. Try to inspire yourself by thinking about the importance of whatever it's you wish to try and do. And if it's hard for you to stay motivated, here’s something you can try… Make a list of key points or reasons that you can reference when you need an extra push.
3 - Value Your Time
Make the time you spend working on your tasks productive. Look at your to-do list and prioritize. This will make it harder for deadlines to sneak up on you, and easier to work productively - even if it's in short bursts.
4 - Think About The Benefits
Focusing on the difficulties of carrying out a task, leads to discouragement, avoidance of taking action, and laziness. Instead of thinking about the difficulties or obstacles, think about the benefits you will gain once you start taking action. When you concentrate on advantages and goals, productivity becomes much more rewarding. Learn the worth of every task and so work towards it.
5 - Think About The Consequences
Think about what will happen if you don't get your task or chore done. In most cases, merely considering the results of not acting, can push you to take action!
6 - Switch Things Up
If you tend to leave the most complicated or tough tasks for last, switch it up, and begin doing those things first. You don't want to spread yourself too thin. Pick one or two things to focus on and fully devote yourself to working on those tasks. Remember, you have to work to reach your goal; it's not going to happen right away.
 7 - Track Your Progress
Sticking to new changes can be challenging. Tracking results is an effective way to help make new habits stick. If you can see that ‘holding yourself accountable’ is helping you reach your goal, it will be much easier to keep up.

8 - Schedule Break Times
You need to take an occasional break, but make sure that time is limited, so you don't lose momentum. For example, you could commit to working on your tasks for the first 45 minutes of every hour and then take a 15-minute break.
 9 - Look For Alternatives
Is there a better, or more efficient way to do things? Think of ways you can be more effective. You’ll find that the more you streamline, automate, delegate, and outsource, the more you’ll get done with the same level of effort.
10 - Take Some Time Off
Perhaps you're just too tired… With work, school, and all other stresses of everyday life, it can get pretty difficult to wake up early, exercise, get chores done, and do whatever else you need to do. It's easy to fall behind once you feel exhausted. If you're feeling such as you got to take a bit time to recharge, then take it!
No one is immune to occasional laziness. However, it's how you deal with it and motivate yourself that can keep you on the right track. Everyone has a growing to-do list, and it can sometimes feel overwhelming. Overcoming laziness is achieved through a series of daily actions and activities - by choosing to act, instead of remaining passive. And every time you choose to act, you increase your ability to win, achieve goals and improve your life. So start right now! Develop the self-discipline you need, and get your works done!

HOW ATTITUDES AFFECT MOTIVATION

1 comment :
“Whether we find pleasure in our work or whether we find it a bore, depends entirely upon our mental attitude towards it, not upon the task itself.”
Your motivation depends, in large part, on whether you look upon your activity as a source of enjoyment or just a source of drudgery.

www.momentsofpositivity.com

The labels we put on activity seem to have something to do with this. The word “work” stimulates an unpleasant response. Then we listen to the word “hard” in front of it and it becomes even more unpleasant. “Hard work” seems to imply there is something distasteful about human effort applied over an extended time to an activity for which there is compensation rendered.

Medical experts say that the reason people become tired is not that they do too much-but rather because they do too little. Dr. James Montague said he never knew a person who suffered from overwork. There were many, however, who suffered from too much ambition and not enough action. Dr. Charles Mayo found much the same thing. “I have never known a person who died from overwork but there were many who died from doubt,” he said.
But the greatest benefit you derive from doing just a little more than you have to is that, for some strange reason, you just feel better. No one seems to know why. But it is a fact that on those days that you get an early start and fill your day with a busy activity you end up feeling good about it.

Here are some important factors that affect your motivation your ability to work.

 1. You will work for rewards:: primarily money.

 2. You will work for a leader...a person.

 3. You will work for something in which you believe, a cause, an activity that satisfies your purpose in living.

 4. You will work for things that satisfy you psychologically: recognition, security, friendship, fulfillment etc.

All of them involve your attitude. You need money to buy the necessities of life. But beyond that point it is your attitude about how much more you want that determines the degree to which money will motivate you.
It is your attitude about your boss as a leader that will determine if the boss can affect your motivation; no one is a perfect leader. You can find fault with the best if that is what you are looking for.
Believing in what you do is the source of the strongest work motivation there is. Your attitude towards your work determines if you can believe in it. This is the “secret of motivation”--having the ability to believe in what you are doing. Some call it “cause” motivation. It is the ability to find cause and purpose in what you are doing.
You will work for a reward. You will work harder for a leader or for recognition, security, or other psychological satisfaction (psychic rewards). But you will work hardest for a cause, a purpose, something in which you can believe.
In fact, if you can believe in what you are doing, this type of motivation will tend to eliminate the effect of the unpleasant factors of work such as physical discomfort, poor working environment, people problems, etc. People have been known to endure almost unbearable physical hardships (even risking their lives) to pursue an activity in which they can believe.

So the secret of the motivated person is the ability to BELIEVE in a job, a purpose, a goal. There is nothing one cannot achieve if one has the ability to believe.
Psychologists have discovered that people will work for money, but they will work harder for a leader or psychic satisfaction, but they work hardest for something in which they can BELIEVE.

So, to become motivated in the way you spend your day, learn to believe in the activities in which you engage. If you are a salesperson believe in your company, your product, your job. If you are a teacher believe in the students you are helping, the purpose and worthiness of your work If you are a student believe in yourself and the investment of time you are making in your education.     Perhaps when you spend your time in this fashion you are fulfilling a bigger purpose for your life.

As Thomas Carlyle wrote: “What is the use of health, or of life, if not to do some work therewith?”

DEVELOPING UNDERSTANDING

Ten Suggestions for Understanding Others

“I don't like that man. I must get to know him better.”         ― Abraham Lincoln

Understanding is an attitude. You cannot go through life controlling situations, circumstances and people. But you can develop understanding. With an attitude of understanding your life becomes a more peaceful, harmonious experience. Here are ten suggestions for acquiring understanding.

1. Be Tolerant of Others.
Learn to be patient and tolerant of other people’s weaknesses, actions, and differences. All people are different from you. Simply because a person is a boss, iiiend, or one to whom you are married does not make that person like you. They are not going to act out the role of boss, friend, or married partner exactly the way you think it should be done. You may not understand why the other person acts as he or she does. But you can learn to tolerate that person and  that is the beginning of all understanding.

2. Accept The Differences In Others.
Although we say “differences” we really mean imperfections. Because the ways that people are different might be viewed as their faults or weaknesses, you tend to unconsciously judge others. You judge whether or not they are doing something you like or dislike agree or disagree with whether they are right or wrong, from your viewpoint. Now if they do not measure up according to your judgment, you stop tolerating them and become irritated, upset, or frustrated. The challenge of forming an attitude of understanding is to have faith in people and believe in them.
Try to accept people as they are; avoid casting them in roles of perfection. Stop judging them. Learn to accept the ways that people are different from you.

3. Avoid Expecting People To Be Perfect.
Have faith in people, believe in them, love them, like them, enjoy them but accept them the way they are! They come with a lot of good and a little bad; some positive and a little negative; always some plus and always a little minus.

4. Be Sure You WANT To Understand People.
There are times when you find yourself criticizing another person saying you do not understand why that person acts that way. But perhaps you’re finding it easier not to understand that person. Perhaps you are envious, suspicious, or simply find it easier to dislike that person. As long as you want to be dominated by your own negative feelings, you will never learn to understand others.

5. Look For The Good In Others.
It is amazing how deliberately people seem to look for other’s negative characteristics. There seems to be a measure of delight in fault finding. Make an effort to identify with the positive qualities in people. If you have only positive thoughts of others you will really have no need for understanding. You have, in a sense, achieved it!

6. Learn To Love The Unlovable
The personable, popular individual with no irritating qualities presents no challenge to understanding. The challenge is to love the unlovable. It is difficult to understand the people who are rude, sarcastic, arrogant, surely and self-centered.It is difficult even to want to understand these people. It requires self-determination to understand that someone has hurt these people. Someone has made them feel unimportant and unwanted. So these are the people who need your understanding. And the reward will be yours for trying, because, in the process, you will be growing into a genuinely mature person.

7.   Place Yourself In The Other Person’s Situation.
In very few instances would you be irritated with another person if you really knew all the facts. And all the facts include an insight into all inner compulsions, needs, experiences, and the problems of others.
One of the characteristics of your imagination is its ability to place yourself in the other person’s situation. You can “imagine” how another feels. And that accomplishes much the same purpose as understanding. It gives a bond of feeling and compassion for others.

8. Control Your Attitudes.
Always remember there is usually nothing in the other person’s actions that irritate you. It is your reactions that cause the negative feelings a the misunderstandings. Learn to control your “reactions” your attitudes to others -‘and you will automatically control your feelings.

9 .Develop A Mental Image of Understanding.
Picture yourself as an understanding, patient, kind individual. Model your picture, if you wish, after an actual person whom you consider as having those characteristics. Hold that picture in your mind. Start acting out the image. Soon you will become that person!

10.  Use Positive Affirmations of Yourself  As An Understanding Person.
The quality of our overall life is determined by how we feel, moment-to-moment.So one of our most important goals should be to use positive affirmations and all psychological positive thinking techniques available to keep ourselves thinking and talking about what we want and to keep our mind off of what we don’t want, or what we fear . Always tell yourself that you are an Understanding Person.
Keep positive thoughts consistent  and keep your mind on what you want to do and the person you want to be.

Everyone hates to fail, but for some people, failing presents such a significant psychological threat their motivation to avoid failure exceeds their motivation to succeed. This fear of failure causes them to unconsciously sabotage their chances of success, in a variety of ways.

Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things towards you.                                                                                                                                    Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Live in present
Most of us stay unhappy in our life because of our thinking habits. We either worry about the future that is yet to come, or we keep thinking about the good or bad time of our past. Worrying about the past of future gives us nothing but worries and unhappiness in our life. we can change this situation just by living in the present time. Appreciate and enjoy everything that we have right now, stop worrying about the past because that time is already gone and we do not have any control over it. Also, we do not have much control over your future as well, and our current actions will shape our future

Never put off for tomorrow, what you can do today

Procrastination means delaying work or several tasks for a later time.
www.momentsofpositivity.com           Everyone procrastinates. Sometimes it’s fun to procrastinate. Sometimes waiting until just before a deadline is very motivating. And sometimes procrastination is even necessary—as a way to put off a dreaded task until we feel more energetic, prepared, or able to do it.
But sooner or later, chronic procrastinating will begin to hamper job performance. It will also affect our mood and state of mind by generating worry, fear, or added stress. Perhaps most serious for people in a leadership position, procrastinating may cause our peers and employees to feel that we’re holding up progress.
If procrastination has become a problem for you—and you know who you try these to change your behavior so you can be more productive. An added benefit is that you’ll feel more upbeat, less worried and stressed, and more confident about your reputation and effectiveness.
 Put it in writing.
Write down the task you’ve been putting off. Doing this brings the project to the front of your mind so you can’t easily ignore it.
