How do you begin your day? Do you pour yourself a cup of coffee, recline to your sofa, and turn on the radio or television to get the latest news reports, at the same time exposing yourself to countless reasons why you should be depressed and unthankful for the events in your life and the world. If this is your best-case scenario then you need to make some adjustments.

Think of developing an attitude of gratitude seeing that it will give you the power and confidence to approach every situation with the expectation that it is going to be all right and it is a prerequisite if you must succeed in your endeavors.

An attitude of gratitude is a component of a mindset for success and it requires effort, for which the following steps are necessary:

Quiet Time:

Develop a habit of having quiet times. These are moments that you could step aside from all your activities and reflect on the way you have been blessed. Bishop David Oyedope said that he has a quiet place that he reclines to which he calls his THINKING ROOM. The thinking room or whatever you chose to call your solitary place is a place of rest, a place to brainstorm and strategize. A place like this is a must-have. The importance of having quiet times cannot be overemphasized and its benefits are unparalleled. Learn to begin your day in a quiet moment.

Count Your Blessings:

Developing an attitude of gratitude is pivotal to your success. Spend some time at the beginning of your day thinking of 5 to 7 ways you have been blessed. Be grateful for the opportunity to have experienced such blessings and empowerment. Think about the people in your life, your family, your colleagues, friends, and acquaintances for how they have enriched your life and make you become the person you are.

Focus on Your blessings:

To develop an attitude of gratitude you must focus on the positive and learn from the negatives in your life, this will give you a proper perspective on things. What you focus on will eventually determine your outcome and state of mind. You have to focus on the good things in and through your life that you can be grateful for.

Be Thankful in all Things:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know unto God.”

That’s it right there, be anxious for nothing as this will obliterate your attitude of gratitude instead be thankful.
George Herbert stated, “Thou hast given so much to me give me one thing more, a grateful heart.” You can begin your day with this frame of mind.

The important thing to understand is that gratitude is important for the well-being of your spirit. It can help you to move on with your life and to get on with your life. instead of feeling as if you are dragging in the wake of the things that have passed you by. Once you have learned to be grateful for the things that you have, you will find that your life is less of a burden and more of a blessing.

If you are miserable and think that you are going to fail, that is the energy you are putting out to the world and that is what the world is going to give back to you. Now, on the other hand, if you are grateful for what you have, your skills, your new journey, the world is going to be bringing back that good feeling vibration to you so that you will be attracting what you want and need to reach your goals!

Attitude Of Gratitude

Some more ways to be in gratitude are to:

  • Write down what you are grateful for…no matter what it is
  • When you are feeling down, look back in your gratitude journal and read what you have written in the past…this will help you to remember what you love and will instantly change that negative feeling to one that is positive
  • Grab a friend and make a nightly ritual by email or phone of telling each other what you are grateful for and what your wins for the day were. Sometimes when you have someone to be accountable to that helps as well.

It is not difficult to find things in your life and business that you are grateful for and once you get started you will be amazed at how long the list goes.

When you are living your life in gratitude, opportunities will come to you so much easier and you will start to see things flowing in your life that seemed really hard to you before!
